Skolkovo Foundation

Skolkovo Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2010 under initiative of the President of the Russian Federation. The Skolkovo Foundation’s overarching goal is to create a sustainable ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation, engendering a startup culture and encouraging venture capitalism. Its five key areas of potential growth are: energy efficiency, strategic computer technologies, biomedicine, nuclear technologies and space technologies. The Fund is entrusted with the functions of managing the project of creation of the Skolkovo Innovation Center, the activity of which is regulated by special law providing the corporate parties (now it is more than 1700) with special economic conditions. The total receipts of the corporate parties exceeded 130 bln RUB. They have created 22 100 job positions, have been granted 1100 patents. An important part of the Skolkovo ecosystem is the research university - the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (SkolTech), established and operated with the support of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. By 2020, more than 2 million square meters of industrial, office and residential premises will be built in Skolkovo, 35 000 people will be employed in the Innovation Center.

Agency for Strategic initiatives to promote new projects (ASI) is an independent non-profit organization established by the Russian Government order as of August 11, 2011. ASI enables people who care about the future of the country, to implement strategic projects in business, social sphere, human resources system and vocational education and training. The agency gives support to the commercial, social and education projects in the area of overcoming administrative and regulatory barriers, conducting all-round expertise and fund raising (by means of financial and development institutions). The separate line is the system projects on improvement of investment environment, industrial staffing, additional education of children and providing of new living standards for people with special needs. According to the order of the Chairman of ASI Supervisory Board, Putin V.V., the President of the Russian Federation, Agency is also involved in the realization of the National Technological Initiative
